Baloo is the deuteragonist of The Jungle Book and The Jungle Book 2 and the main protagonist of spin-offs Talespin and Jungle Cubs. He is a sloth bear and best friends with Mowgli. He can be very silly at times, and very crazy, but is still kind and caring. He also doesn't like to be serious, even if he has to be. Even though he's not the main character of the film, Baloo has become the most popular Disney character from the Jungle Book. He was voiced by Phil Harris, Ed Gilbert (until their respective deaths), Steve Curtis Chapman and by John Goodman in The Jungle Book 2. Pamela Segall-Adlon did his voice in Jungle Cubs.
In Talespin, he is more human-like and wears a red pilot's cap and a yellow shirt. There, he is voiced by Gilbert.
