The Haunted Mansion Holiday has become an annual event at Disneyland in California that combines The Haunted Mansion attraction with characters from Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas, and has been held every year since 2001, excepting 2005 when the attraction was not changed over as part of Disneyland's 50th Anniversary celebration.
Backstory
The base story is that Jack Skellington has crashed his sleigh into the mansion and introduces the 999 Happy Haunts residing there to Halloweentown's idea of Christmas. Among the many changes made for this are replacing the groundskeeper with Jack Skellington, a giant monster cake in the ballroom, a snake eating presents in the attic, singing pumpkins instead of singing busts, and surprise gifts instead of hitchhiking ghosts. At Tokyo Disneyland, the event is known as "Haunted Mansion Holiday Nightmare".
